Lion and Lamb Yard was home to Fleeting, a new installation of naturally dyed panels by Farnham textile artist Hermione Thomson, created especially for Farnham Craft Month. Suspended above the Yard, the screen-printed panels turned the space into an open-air canvas of colour and movement. Made from regenerative and natural materials, they carried a print inspired by the shapes and shadows of foliage around Farnham, and their appearance shifted with the light and autumn weather, so every visit offered something slightly different. Fleeting formed part of Hermione’s wider collection, The Impermanence of Things, which explores seasonal change, loss and renewal. It also drew on the Japanese idea of mono no aware, the recognition that all things are changing and the beauty found in those passing moments.
